I've been practicing yoga for a little over a decade now. I first started win the early 2000's when I moved to CA from PA. I was instantly hooked. The mind//body connection and meditation aspect was something I'd unfortunately, never experienced and knew that I was on to something good. It took me about 10 years to get to a place where I could weave it into my daily life instead of a class at the gym here and there but I see the positive effects of the practice and how it's changed me. I love that I get to photograph my passion here. Nicole Currie is a lovely yogi from the L.A. area that comes up to Santa Margarita to lead retreats at our local Sagrada Retreat Center and I'm lucky enough to have these women in my life and take yoga and xi gong classes from them on occasion. Our shoot was truly pure bliss for me. Enjoy our magic!
I've said it before but In-Home sessions are by FAR my favorite type of shoot. Especially when they involve kids. Kids breathe so much joy and life into a photograph. Meet baby Luca, 6 weeks, so technically not a freshy newborn still but sure enough one of the sweetest lil babes ever to grace the planet. (aren't they all?) I just love Luca's mama as well. She is a hoot, barrels of fun (which you can tell by just looking at theses) and a badass elementary teacher to boot! (Her hubby's pretty cool too ;) Enjoy!
A fun, fall afternoon with a super rad family. I love this old bridge here in my town and am always looking to shoot families here. I did a lot last year here but none so far this year. So I decided to revisit this location and I'm so happy I did! The colors here are AH-MAZING. We usually have more rain by now and there is more green grass growing but since it's been super duper dry this fall, we've got more brown/orange tones. I'm not complaining. It was pretty darn perfect.
